Pop-up Nano and Materials Science station
Where: Tūranga
When: Saturday 8 – Sunday 9 February
What if a boat could have sails made of solar panels? What if your school's windows could help power your school and you could still see through them? Just how small is a nanoparticle, and why does it matter? The pop-up science station will explore these questions (and more) with hands-on demonstrations of the amazing applications of nanotechnology and materials science that are currently under development. Great things really do come in (very) small packages!
People Like Me workshops
Where: Tūranga
When: Monday 10 – Thursday 14 February
A roundtable style workshop where we bring in a number of experts and role models who have pursued STEM in different ways. The goal is for these role models to directly engage with a group of Year 12-13 students through whanaungatanga, connection-building exercises, sharing stories, and asking each other questions. These workshops will help students connect with their peers and role models, and will raise awareness of all the different pathways available to a career in STEM.
