Carbon offset contribution - support local conservation efforts
To minimise the impact of this workshop on the environment and to support local conservation an optional fee is included in registration.
Method of calculating carbon credits
Using carbon calculators (co2.myclimate.org & calculator.toitu.co.nz), an estimated carbon offset has been calculated for the event footprint excluding travel. This is not an accredited process, but it has been setup so that 100% of funds collected go direct to local conservation efforts.
How the funds will be distributed
A New Zealand charitable organisation with carbon offsetting activities (e.g. native tree planting) will be selected by the 2023 organisers as a recipient for collected funding. The total collected and donated as well as the recipient or project will be shared with workshop participants.

We understand that circumstances can change. Cancellations must be notified in writing by email to sapflow2023@confer.co.nz. Cancellations received on or before 8 September 2023 will be charged an administration fee of $100. No refund will be given for registration cancellations received after 8 September 2023 including “no shows” at the conference). Registrations can be transferred to another delegate at any time with no change fee.
Purpose for this policy is to help ensure a safe and comfortable meeting for all workshop attendees and to reduce the spread of illness at the workshop and within the local community.
