Short Courses

SGA 2021 is calling for Short Course proposals for consideration. Selected proposals will be included in the conference programme and are intended to provide an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience. 

Several 1-day and 2-day short courses will be held on Saturday 13 November, Sunday 14 November and Friday 19 November.

Here is a preview of the topics and types of short courses that could be included in the programme:

  • Fusing geochemistry and structure for best practice exploration, mining and research geology (2-day)
  • Advances in the science of and exploration for magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE-Au-Te deposits: from the classic to the unconventional (2-day)
  • Fundamentals of spectral reflectance for mineral exploration and mining (2-day)
  • Structural geology of orogenic gold deposits: primary and secondary controls on ore distribution in deposits and districts (2-day)
  • Enhancement and structural interpretation of geophysical data at the prospect to lithospheric scale: applications to mineral exploration (2-day)
  • Geology, Genesis and Exploration of Epithermal Ore Deposits (1-day)
  • Exploration Geochemistry: Applying the Fundamentals
    (1-day)

  • An introduction to machine learning and multivariate data analysis (1-day)
