Social Functions

Our conference is an important time to reconnect with colleagues and old friends as well as make new connections. Sign up for these social functions when you complete your conference registration. All require pre-booking during registration.

Welcome Reception

When: Monday 29 August, 6.00-7.30pm
Where: The James Cook Hotel (147 The Terrace, Wellington Central)
Who: All conference delegates

This is an informal meet up giving you a chance to catch up with friends and colleagues. Pick up your name badge and enjoy the canapes and drinks provided.

Poster Reception

When: Tuesday 26 August, ~5.00-7.00pm (start time subject to change)
Where: The James Cook Hotel (147 The Terrace)
Who: Full or Tuesday only conference delegates

Hosted in the exhibition area at the end of the first conference day, join your colleagues and our supporters as we relax together over nibbles and drinks. Poster presenters are asked to stand with their posters for questions and conversation over their work.

Student Function

When: Tuesday 26 August, 7.00-9.00pm
Where: Fork & Brewer (20 Bond Street)
Who: Students & invited guests

An opportunity to meet up with other early career professionals. Enjoy an evening at one of Wellington’s local pubs in the heart of the city. A burger and beverage are provided. Local tip: check out Ye Old Pinball Shoppe next door. If you are travelling with a guest, there is a guest ticket option when registering.

Gala Dinner

When: Wednesday 27 August 6.30-11.30pm
Where: New Zealand Parliament (1 Molesworth Street)
Who: All conference delegates

Hosted in a truly iconic space at the heart of New Zealand’s democracy. A sit down dinner which will be light on formalities and heavy on great food and fun! Plan for music and dancing after dessert! Semi-formal dress.
