Set across 20 hectares at the southern edge of Rotorua, Mokoia Campus offers a stunning natural setting, surrounded by native forest, scenic reserves, and views stretching toward mountains and geothermal landscapes.
The campus continues to evolve, with modern facilities designed to support both learning and connection. Recent additions include a recreation centre and a centrally located outdoor amphitheatre beside the marae—a vibrant gathering space that hosts events and performances, particularly during the warmer months.
At the heart of the campus is the purpose-built Health and Sciences Centre, a $10.2 million facility tailored for nursing, healthcare, and sport science programmes. This contemporary space features specialist classrooms, laboratories, and flexible lecture and performance areas.
Mokoia Campus also provides a wide range of facilities, including modern lecture theatres, advanced trades workshops and live building sites, creative studios for fashion, art, and pottery, as well as a training restaurant, café, espresso lab, and hair salon. The beautifully designed Tangatarua Marae adds a strong cultural presence, reflecting the values and identity of the region.
The campus is also home to the National Centre of Excellence for the Forest and Wood Industry, known as the “Tree House,” which delivers industry-leading training in forestry and timber.
Located just five minutes from Rotorua’s central city, Mokoia Campus offers convenient access to shopping, dining, entertainment, and the lakeside beauty of Lake Rotorua.
