The Concrete NZ Conference 2023 organising committee invite you to submit an abstract for consideration and inclusion in the technical programme. The technical programme will include a combination of international and local speakers covering a range of topics relating to construction, design and materials.

Topics for Submission
Submissions are encouraged related to the following topics. However, as the technical programme will be driven by you, the delegates, submissions under other related topics will also be considered.

Format of Abstract Submission
- Submissions should be prepared using the Word template that can be downloaded below.
- Abstracts to be submitted in English
- Submissions should be no more than 300 words
- You will be required to enter in the author/co-authors and affiliations separately during the submission process
- You will be required to enter a bio/career history for the Presenting Author/s (max. 100 words each)
- Authors should include a written commitment to personally attend and present the paper at the conference, if the paper or presentation is accepted
- If you are submitting on behalf of the Presenter/s, please have their email address/s ready to include in the submission
IMPORTANT: Once you have completed your submission, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this confirmation email, we have NOT received your submission. Please remember to check your spam/junk folders and contact the conference organisers should you need assistance at concrete@confer.co.nz.
Review and Notification to Authors
All completed abstract submissions will be reviewed. Authors will be notified by 2 May 2023 regarding preliminary acceptance of their abstract. Full paper submissions will be requested for accepted abstracts.
Full paper submissions will be due by 19 July 2023. Thereafter you will be advised regarding the final allocation of your presentation in the programme.
Technical Paper Submissions
Full paper submissions will be due by 19 July 2023. Papers will need to be submitted using the Concrete NZ 2023 template, this, along with a presenter information kit, will accompany the preliminary acceptance notification to authors of accepted abstracts on 2 May 2023.
Once technical papers have been reviewed, before the end of July 2023, you will be advised regarding the final allocation of your presentation in the programme.
Sandy Cormack Award
All papers accepted for the 2023 Concrete NZ conference will be eligible for the Concrete NZ – Learned Society’s ‘Sandy Cormack Award’ (the recipient will receive $1,000 and an award certificate). Judging criteria and other details will be provided to authors at the time of abstract acceptance.

Registration
All presenters are required to register and pay the conference registration fee in order to be included in the programme and to present in person at the event. Registration and payment of registration fee by presenters of accepted abstracts must be completed by no later than 14 August 2023.
Publication
By submitting an abstract/paper, authors agree to the publication of chosen abstracts/papers on the conference mobile app, conference website and conference proceedings or similar by Concrete NZ.
Presentation
Accepted oral presentations will be included within topical sessions in the official Conference programme. Further details will be advised with the confirmation email.
