Call for Special Sessions

Create your own Special Session for 8AESE. An excellent opportunity to present about recent advances in a broad range of topics related to the physical modelling and testing of structures. The Organising Committee are calling for authors/researchers to submit Special Session proposals by
11 November 2019.

Proposals should consist of a title with a description that includes any proposed contributors/presenters. Selected Session proposals will be included in the conference programme and are intended to provide an opportunity to highlight the topics of this year's meeting.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions should provide a brief paragraph, no more than 300 words, outlining what the symposium will cover and including the following:

  • Topic
  • How it is relevant
  • A list of suggested/potential or confirmed speakers (not included in word count)

Format of submission

  • To submit your special session please prepare to upload your proposal (without title, authors/session organisers or affiliations) as a Microsoft Word document. Your title and authors/session organiser and affiliations will need to be entered into separate fields.
  • Length of proposal - 300 words
  • Word limit for abstract title (if applicable) - 25 words
  • Submissions to be submitted in English 
  • You will be required to enter a bio for the Presenting Author/Session Organiser (max. 100 words). 
  • If you are submitting on behalf of the Presenter, please have their email address ready to include in the submission.

General Information

Language of Submission
All proposals must be submitted in English or accompanied with an English version.

Word Count
Submissions should be no longer than 300 words.

Review and Notification to Authors
All completed submissions will be reviewed. You will be informed by email (from 8aese@confer.co.nz) of the acceptance status of your submission by Mid October 2019.

Registration
On acceptance of Special Session submission, all presenters will be required to submit an abstract for the session, register and make payment of the registration fees in order to be included in the progamme and present at the conference. Registration opens in September 2019. The deadline for presenter registrations is 9 December 2019.

Publication
By submitting a Special Session you give consent to publication of the Session in the conference material including, but not limited to, the 8AESE conference website, conference programme and conference publicity.
