Call for Abstracts

The Organising Committee of the 8th International Conference on Advances in Experimental Structural Engineering (8AESE), invite researchers and professionals to submit extended abstracts or full papers for consideration and inclusion in the conference programme.

Topics for Submission

Suggested topics for submission are listed below. However, as the 8AESE conference programme will be driven by you, the delegates, submissions under other related topics will also be considered. 

  • Active and Passive Structural control
  • Application of experimental results to structural design and analysis
  • Data management and information systems
  • Hybrid simulation and other on-line testing techniques (including Fire)
  • Innovative software development for structural experiments
  • Modeling/numerical simulation to predict and interpret experimental results
  • New tests, measuring and monitoring techniques in structural experiments
  • Signal processing, diagnostics, prognostics
  • Smart materials for sensors and actuators
  • Standardization of testing procedures
  • Structural health monitoring
  • Digital Engineering technologies

Guidelines

2 Types of submissions will be accepted:

  1. Extended Abstract: up to 2 pages (excluding references)
  2. Full Paper: up to 9 pages (excluding references)

Submissions must be prepared using the relevant Templates and Guidelines provided. Submissions not conforming to these templates will not be reviewed or considered.

Format of submission 

  • Microsoft Word document as per the relevant template
  • Submissions to be submitted in English 
  • You will be required to enter in the author/co-authors and affiliations separately during the submission process
  • You will be required to enter a bio for the Presenting Author (max. 100 words) 
  • If you are submitting on behalf of the Presenter, please have their email address ready to include in the submission

  Submission deadline: 11 November 2019
  Presenters advised by: 4 December 2019

General Information

Language of Submission
All abstracts/papers must be submitted in English or accompanied with an English version.

Review and Notification to Authors
All completed submissions will be reviewed. You will be informed by email (from 8aese@confer.co.nz) of the acceptance status of your abstract/paper by 4 December 2019.

Registration
All presenters are required to register and pay the Conference registration fee in order to be included in the programme and to present in person at the event. Registration and payment of registration fee by presenters of accepted abstracts/papers must be completed by no later than 9 December 2019.

Publication
By submitting an abstract, authors agree to publication in any conference proceedings or similar.

Presentation
All accepted submissions will be included as Oral Presentations within topical sessions of the official Conference programme. Further details will be advised with the confirmation email.
