About the 2021 NZES Conference Designs

"A metaphor for the protection and nurturing of people in the whenua of Papatuanuku and all life contained within. The nurturing component is portrayed by the vessel base, the shape of which conjures a slight rocking movement."

 “I named this piece "Our Bones" because I wanted it to connect to the audience in a way the reminded them that they are one with nature. I decided to represent my specimen as a life cycle. The black background represents the death of the plant, the descending white lines in the green leaf represents time, it represents the soul getting smaller until it passes into the darkness.”
