Earth Fest – Festival of Earth Science

In association with the Geoscience Conference 2023 we are holding EarthFest – A Festival of Earth Science. EarthFest will be a chance for members of the public, especially tamariki and their families, to get up close and personal with the earth sciences and meet people working in its many different fields. Part science festival, part careers expo, there’s sure to be something for everyone!
The festival will feature a range of interactive exhibits through which people can explore the processes that drive our Earth, the technologies we use to study them, and the many different careers and skills that contribute to this important work. From rocks, minerals and fossils through to natural hazards and emergency management, EarthFest 2023 will showcase the Earth as we know it through interactive displays, virtual and augmented reality experiences, games, tabletop experiments, and more!

Be an exhibitor
The aim of this festival is to offer family-friendly activities that will engage tamariki (children), rangatahi (young people), and their whānau (families) with a range of earth science topics and processes. While all types of exhibits will be considered, we encourage exhibitors to focus on interactive activities that will inspire interest and excitement, and the desire to learn more about earth science.
