  2. From melt to manifestation: magmatic evolution, volcanism & geothermal resources
  3. Decoding Earth's past & the forces that shaped it

The GSNZ Organising Committee is calling for proposals for Sessions, pre-conference Workshops, post-conference Field Trips and SIG lunchtime meetings to complement the scientific programme. GSNZ members and non-members are welcome to submit.

By submitting a proposal, you are signalling that you are willing to convene the activity, actively encourage participation and abstract submission from colleagues, and help organise the session/activity, format and order of speakers.

Click on the buttons below to access and complete the submission form by 26 June 2026.

Submission Guidelines

  • Title
  • Lead convenor and co-conveners (names, affiliation and emails)
  • Description of aim and content
  • Description of the activity as it will appear on the website
  • Any website or relevant links
  • All submissions must be in English or accompanied with an English version

Session Guidelines

  • Sessions should be linked to the Conference Themes
  • Session proposals should include the intended format for the session (poster only, or oral and poster presentations)
  • Session proposals should provide an opportunity to highlight strong research areas, controversial topics, special interest groups, and the outcomes of large research programmes, and attract a critical number of abstracts to be included in the programme

Review of Proposals and Notification of Conveners

All submissions will be reviewed by the programme committee, and submitters will be informed of the acceptance status via email in June. While similar sessions and those with low abstract submission numbers might need to be merged to avoid duplication and fit within the conference programme, every effort will be made to find mutually acceptable solutions in collaboration with the respective lead conveners.

The selected sessions will be included in the conference programme, with abstract submission opening in July and closing in August.

Registration

All convenors are required to register and pay the registration fee no later than the Early Bird deadline of 30 October 2026 to be included in the programme
