For delegates travelling to the conference from overseas, the easiest journey from Auckland may be a domestic flight from Auckland Airport to Kerikeri Airport, followed by a drive to Paihia (~25min).
For others, renting a car or taking a shuttle or bus from Auckland which is 3 hours drive away may be more suitable plus a great way to take in the sights!
Below we provide some information on both options to aid your planning.
Your journey at a glance
Auckland Airport (AKL) Arrive & clear NZ border controls Transfer to Domestic Terminal Fly to Kerikeri Drive/Taxi (25km) to Paihia
After your international flight arrives, you will need to clear New Zealand's arrival formalities before making your way to the Domestic Terminal.
Allow at least 3 hours for your international-to-domestic connection. This allows for immigration, baggage collection, Customs and biosecurity, and the transfer between terminals.
The International and Domestic Terminals are in separate buildings. A free airport bus operates between them every 15 minutes from 5:00am to 11:00pm daily. At the international terminal, the bus leaves from Bus Stop B at the Transport Hub. Alternatively, you can use the signposted walkway, which takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

Kerikeri Airport is located approximately 22km from the conference venue in Paihia. Once you arrive, you will need to arrange onward transport to your accommodation.
There are several local taxi services available for pick-up from Kerikeri airport. It is highly recommended that these be pre-booked. Information on the different providers can be found here.
If you would like to explore Northland at your own pace, several car rental services can be found within the airport. More information can be found here.

For delegates wanting to avoid another flight and take in the Northland scenery by road, here are a few options.
Taking an InterCity Bus from Auckland to Pahia, followed by a taxi/shuttle ride to the conference venue is the recommended way to reach the conference without a second flight.
Steps:
1. From Auckland Airport Bus Stop E, take the SkyDrive Airport Express bus to the Auckland InterCity Bus terminal in the CBD. This service is best pre-booked.
2. Take a bus ride from Auckland CBD InterCity Bus terminal to Paihia using the InterCity service. This service must be pre-booked and takes around 4 hours.
3. Take a pre-booked taxi/shuttle from Paihia to the conference venue. Services include Bay Cabs, Paihia Taxis & Tours, and Dial-A-Ride.
Booking a Private or Shared transfer from Auckland Airport to the conference venue is a great way to travel directly to the venue with less hassle.
All services must be pre-booked online, and vary in duration and pricing. Suppliers include: Black Robin Tours & Transfers, Silver Wave Private Transfers, NZ Intercity Cabs, and Highway 1 Tours and Transfers.
