Call for Conference Proposals Are Now Closed

The Education Conference 2023 Committee and the Pūtea Whakawhanake Pouako | PPTA Learning and Development Centre invites proposals for Presentations and Workshops.  In April 2023 we come together at the Aotea Centre to network, celebrate our work, learn from each other, and grow within our amazing field of secondary education professionals.

If you have research that you would like to present, we invite you to submit a proposal.  This is your opportunity to share valuable ideas and insights with your peers to help shape the future of secondary education in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Types of Sessions

The PPTA Education Conference 2023 will feature two types of concurrent sessions: Presentations and Workshops. Please keep these guidelines in mind when submitting your proposal.


Call for Presentations

If you have research that you would like to present in a seminar style, we invite you to submit a Presentation proposal here.   This is your opportunity to share valuable ideas and insights with your peers to help shape the future of schools across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Presentation Format
The speaker sessions are 45 minutes long - ideally a 35-minute presentation and 10 minutes for Q+A,


Call for Workshops

Please contact pptaeducation@confer.co.nz or 04 384 1511 if you have any queries. 

If you have a Workshop that you would like to present, we invite you to submit a Workshop proposal here.  Workshops should be interactive and engage the attendees in reaching an outcome.   

Workshop Format
The Workshops are 45 minutes long and are aimed to be hands-on and fully interactive. 


Guidelines for All Proposal Submissions

To submit your proposals please prepare to upload your proposal (without title, authors/affiliations or keywords) as a Microsoft Word or similar file. Please do not upload a PDF. Your title and authors/affiliations will need to be entered into separate fields.   

  • You will be required to enter a short bio for the Presenting Author (max. 100 words). 
  • If you are submitting on behalf of the Presenter, please have their email address ready to include in the submission.
  • A panel will review the proposals and will offer positions by the end of February 2023. Chosen proposals will be added to the conference app, and you will have the opportunity to provide a link to your full paper or abstract.

Key Dates

  • Call for Research Proposals opens: November 2022
  • Submission deadline: 7 January 2023
  • Presenters notified by: End of February 2023
  • Provisional Programme published: March 2023

Language of Submission
All abstracts must be submitted in English or accompanied with an English version.

Word Count
Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words.

Review and Notification to Authors
All completed abstracts will be reviewed. You will be informed by email from pptaeducation@confer.co.nz of the acceptance status of your abstract.  
Please add this email address pptaeducation@confer.co.nz to your safe contacts list.

Registration
All accepted presenters are required to register no later than Monday 6 March 2023 to be included in the programme and to present onsite. 

Publication
By submitting a proposal, authors agree to publication of chosen proposals on the conference app and conference proceeding or similar by PPTA.
