Welcome to the NZ Institute of Physics 2025 Conference
Kia ora Koutou
We are thrilled to invite you to the 20th Conference of the New Zealand Institute of Physics, incorporating Physikos, the New Zealand Physics Teachers' Conference, from 1 - 3 July 2025 at the University of Auckland, located in the vibrant heart of the city.
This year’s conference will feature:
- Sessions spanning the research frontier.
- Engaging education-focused talks and workshops.
- Insights into curriculum and assessment developments.
- The NZIP Awards Ceremony at our conference dinner.
UNESCO has declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. The NZIP conference will be one of the local highlights, with speakers and sessions celebrating a century of progress in quantum mechanics and the promise of developing quantum technologies.
Finally, we want to use the conference as a part of a process to develop a renewed focus and strategy for the NZIP itself — how can we better serve our members, strengthen physics in our schools and universities, and maximise the contribution that physics can make to our society and country?
See you in Auckland in July 2025!
