Who would like to host the next Shallow Survey Conference?
NIWA is currently unable to host the Shallow Survey conference, originally planned for 2021.New Zealand and the nearshore industry has been affected by the global events over the last three years. Unfortunately, we and our partners are no longer in a position to provide the support that is necessary to host and deliver a Shallow Survey conference in the near future. However, we see opportunities to host this conference in New Zealand in 3-4 years' time. In the interim, we invite other parties to consider hosting this important event.

9th International Shallow Survey Conference to 'hibernate'
We are proud of how this conference was shaping up prior to COVID occurring and we thank all those who have contributed their support.

ABOUT SHALLOW SURVEY CONFERENCES
These conferences, held every two to three years, focus on the topics associated with surveying in shallow waters, and are recognised world-wide by experts in their chosen field of research and work as an important forum for presenting new scientific and technological advancements in this area.
As a component of the conference, survey challenges are set with the aim of targeting specific research questions and/or areas of interest.
