Day 1: full-factorial (or nearly full-factorial) experiments, with examples mainly from microbial (eco)physiology and evolution experiments. Suitable for other systems that are easy to grow and manipulate in the lab in a large range of environments.

Field trips are run by independent organisations (either commercial or not-for-profit operators) who manage their own health and safety procedures.

By submitting this form, you confirm that:

  • You understand the trip is delivered and overseen by the operator.
  • You will follow all safety instructions provided by the operator.
  • You acknowledge that outdoor activities carry inherent risks.
  • You are responsible for your own safety and will act responsibly throughout the activity.
  • You consent to receiving medical assistance in an emergency and accept any related costs.
  • Event organisers are not liable for incidents arising from inherent risks, except as required under New Zealand law.

Field Trip Cancellation Policy

By booking a symposium field trip, delegates agree to the following cancellation terms:

  • Cancellation by 11 September 2026:
    A full refund will be provided, or delegates may swap to another available trip option, subject to availability.
  • Cancellation after 11 September 2026 due to circumstances beyond the organisers' control:
    We will endeavour to provide a full refund, less any non-recoverable deposits or costs already incurred.
  • Cancellation after 11 September by attendee: No refund provided if unable to be resold.
