The GSNZ Organising Committee is calling for proposals for Sessions, pre-conference Workshops, post-conference Field Trips and SIG lunchtime meetings to complement the scientific programme.  GSNZ members and non-members are welcome to submit.

By submitting a proposal, you are signalling that you are willing to convene the activity, actively encourage participation and abstract submission from colleagues, and help organise the session/activity/ format/order of speakers.

Click on the links below to download the Microsoft Word Submission Form and return to as an attachment by 27 May 2024.

Submission Guidelines

  • Title
  • Lead convenor and co-conveners (names, affiliation and emails)
  • Description of aim and content
  • Description of the activity for promotion purposes
  • Any website or relevant links
  • Sessions should be linked to the Conference Themes
  • All submissions must be in English or accompanied with an English version
  • Session proposals should include the intended format for the session (poster only, oral + poster presentations)
  • Session proposals should provide an opportunity to highlight strong research areas, controversial topics, special interest groups, and the outcomes of large research programmes and attract a critical number of abstracts in order to be included in the conference programme.

Review of Proposals and Notification of Conveners

All submissions will be reviewed by the programme committee, and submitters informed of the acceptance status via email in June. While similar sessions and those with low abstract submission numbers might have to be merged to avoid duplication and fit the conference programme, every effort will be made to find mutually acceptable solutions in collaboration with the respective lead conveners. The selected sessions will be included in the conference programme with abstract submission opening in June and closing in July.

All convenors are required to register and pay the registration fee no later than 25 October 2024 to be included in the programme.
