Tēnā koutou katoa ki ngā kaiako o te motu. Nau mai, haere mai ki Ōtautahi mō ChemEd BioLive 2026.
The 2026 ChemEd BioLive committee, in association with BEANZ and SCENZ, warmly welcomes you to our conference in Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand, from the 18th to the 20th of November 2026. We are excited to be hosted by the University of Canterbury (Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha) in our beautiful, vibrant, garden city.
We are excited to provide an opportunity for teachers of Chemistry, Biology, and Science to connect, collaborate, and gain inspiration. The conference will feature a programme of national and international keynote speakers, offering fresh perspectives on the rapidly evolving fields of research in Biology, Chemistry and Education. It is also an opportunity to experience the unique scientific, cultural, and scenic highlights of the Canterbury region, from its regenerated city centre to the stunning Port Hills.
Inspired by our guiding whakataukī, our conference theme weaves together the richness of learning and sharing knowledge / mātauranga— bringing together the many dimensions of cultural, scientific, and professional learning that our conference aims to achieve.We acknowledge:
Ngāi Tūāhuriri as mana whenua of our rohe.
Ko Maungatere te maunga
The mountain of Ngāi Tūāhuriri, Maungatere (Mount Grey) stands above us;
Ko Waimakariri, ko Rakahuri ngā awa
The rivers of Ngāi Tūāhuriri – the Waimakariri and Rakahuri (the Ashley) – flow below;
Ko Tūahuriri te tangata
Tūahuriri is the ancestor of our mana whenua.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, whose support is crucial in keeping registration fees accessible for all.
To the teachers and researchers who will be volunteering their time to present and share their knowledge, we thank you. ChemEd BioLive is built on this spirit of community and collaboration. We look forward to the opportunities for innovation, knowledge-building and professional growth that this conference will offer.
Cultural understanding provides our context, our values, and our connection to people and place - our "why." Scientific inquiry provides the tools, data, and innovative methods to forge our path forward - our "how."
This conference is a platform to explore this synergy. We will share insights grounded in heritage and vision, alongside data-driven, evidence-based research. Join us as we gather these diverse and powerful feathers, ready to fly higher, together.
We look forward to welcoming you to an enjoyable and productive conference in Christchurch.
